Join us to visit Casa Para Ninos, home of the Rice and Beans Program.

These primary-aged students will delight you with their enthusiasm. In addition to their neighborhood school, they come to the Casa for English, Computers, Values and Ethics.

All have a minimum grade of 80% or better and come from very low-income families.  It makes for a long day, basically from 8 to 4 for these little people but they are excited to be part of the program.

We try to provide each student with a sponsor to ensure they will continue their education long after they leave Casa Para Ninos. One of our early students just graduated from law school this year but like many that would never have happened without the support of a sponsor. 

 

Pacifica Resort covers the cost of the building, utilities and salaries. Por Los Ninos subsidizes the hot lunch program and provides, gifts for each child at Christmas, school supplies and a gift of new underwear for Day of the Child in April that they are thrilled to receive.  When you can barely afford what goes on the outside the inside is often a low priority!

 

Sponsors meet their students and receive a monthly letter keeping the sponsors up to date with their lives. It is incredibly rewarding. Be prepared to be greeted with hugs and huge smiles, they are waiting to entertain you.
