Volunteers have built Sailfest into the amazing success it is today.

 Commitment, dedication, experience and participation in the events are the backbone to accomplishing the Sailfest Mission. To help the underprivileged children of Zihua to a brighter future.

Volunteer Roles and Opportunities:

​

• Cruisers - bring your boat to Zihuatanejo and take part in events on and off the water

  • volunteer at the Cruiser desk, to promote cruises, talk to visitors and be an ambassador for Sailfest​

• Sailfest Sales Desk

  •  work three hour shifts 9:00 - 3:00,  Feb 9 - 22

  •  sell Sailfest merchandise, promote events, answer questions, greet visitors

  • log sales and handle cash 

• Donations - need numerous canvassers to collect donations from businesses and artists  

  • in Central Zihua, La Madera, La Ropa, Ixtapa, Barra and Playa Blanca.

  • Items will be used in Live & Silent Auctions and Raffles

  • start in Dec or Jan -  finish by 1 Feb so you can enjoy the events​

• Auctions - Live & Silent 

  • Live Auction 12 Feb  5 -7 PM  - starting at 3 pm require volunteers to transport items, set up a display of items, and provide security. Require spotters, runners and cashier​s during the event

  • Silent Auction 20 Feb  starts at 2 PM  - prior need volunteers to transport items, set up tables, security during the auction and cashiers

• Chili Cook-off    Most of all need volunteers to enter your "to-die-for-chili"

  • volunteers needed the day of Feb 13  for set up, selling taste tickets, runners,  bar attendants and clean up

• Garage Sale -  donate items and drop off the morning of the 18th

  •  sort clothing and other goods for opening at 2 PM Feb 18th

  • man tables and advise customers of price, cashiers

  • pack up at end of day 

• Events - Concerts and Gala Dinner   10 - 19- 21 Feb, volunteers needed to work at the bar, set out chairs, cashiers  and clean up

All Chairpersons are volunteers. If you have knowledge and experience in events, computer, media liaison, advertising, marketing, graphic arts, website input, or any other specialty that you would like to share please let us know. ​
