About the Students
These primary-aged students, in Grades 1–6, will delight you with their enthusiasm. In addition to attending their neighborhood schools, they come to Casa Para Niños for English, computers, values, and ethics.
Each student maintains a minimum grade of 80% and comes from a very low-income family. Their days are long often from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM—but they are proud and excited to be part of the program.
Sponsorship
We try to provide each student with a sponsor so they can continue their education long after they leave Casa Para Niños. Sponsors have the opportunity to meet their students and receive a monthly letter with updates about their lives.
It is an incredibly rewarding experience. Be prepared for hugs, huge smiles, and a warm welcome from students who are eager to entertain you.
Rice and Beans Program
Pacifica Resort covers the cost of the building, utilities, and salaries. Por Los Niños subsidizes the hot lunch program and provides Christmas gifts, school supplies, Por Los Ninos Sailfest t-shirt and a new-underwear for each child on Day of the Child in April—something the children are thrilled to receive.For families who can barely afford what goes on the outside, what goes underneath is often treated as a lower priority.
