Peter and Margie Benziger spent three days at Casa de Niños, a school where Sailfest/Porlosninos supports the "Rice and Bean" program. During the three days, the Benzigers gave six presentations, held both in the mornings and afternoons, to ensure all the children could take part.

The presentation was created using photos and videos from their eight-year global journey on their sailboat, Peregrina. Essentially, the children were invited to join as crew members to explore the world.
The topics discussed included:
Geography, endangered animals such as tortoises, Komodo dragons, orangutans, elephants, and marine life. Extinct animals like dinosaurs. Animals and fish at risk of extinction and the advantages of supporting Wildlife Sanctuaries (e.g., Campamento Tortuguera Playa Blanca). The collaboration of multiple countries to form World Heritage Sites for species protection.

The presentation covered how humans contribute to:
The pollution of land and sea by plastic waste
Actions individuals can take to safeguard our environment
In the end, children drew pictures of the animals or fish they wish to protect, allowing them to bring these home and discuss the significance of saving our planet.

Sofia wrote
In the picture No Matemoslo (don't kill) those we love
Then showed the Clown fish under the word "vivo" (alive)
Then wrote the word "extinct" and showed a dead clown fish
Then wrote "nosotros tambien" indicating that if we are not careful we will
cause the human race to be extinct.low,

The kids had a great time and so did Margie and Peter. They gave a big send off and a certificate

Peter is fluent in Spanish, and offers their presentation to other school, until the 15th of March.
